LeBron James looks to have had the last laugh over the ‘Courtside Karen’ who was ejected from a Tuesday NBA game in Atlanta after verbally jousting with the Los Angeles Lakers star.

The Lakers claimed a 107-99 win over the Hawks, but it was James’ argument with 25-year-old spectator Juliana Carlos and her husband, Atlanta businessman Chris Carlos, that stole headlines.

Referees had to stop the game at one point in the fourth quarter after the heckling from the courtside seats became too distracting, with Carlos taking to Instagram after she had been ejected to share a furious, expletive-laden tirade against James.

In the video, Carlos claims she was simply defending her husband after he and James were jawing at each other.

“Just got kicked out of the game for talking s**t to LeBron James for talking s**t to my f***ing husband. This is such f***ing bulls**t.

“LeBron James looked at my husband during the game and cussed him out. And I stood up and I go, ‘Don’t f***ing talk to my husband. Talk to my husband one more time and I will f**k you up.’

“And he started fighting with me and he goes, ‘Shut your mouth, dumb b***h.’

“And I go, ‘You shut your mouth, dumb b***h.’”

The Atlanta Hawks are one of nine NBA teams to allow a limited number of fans in the arena.

James though, had the last laugh when he took to Twitter after the game.

LeBron James brushes off ‘Courtside Karen’ controversy

When asked about the incident after the game, James said he didn’t believe the fans should have been kicked out of the game, but later added he thought the group might have been drinking and said the referees ‘did what they had to do’.

“I don’t feel like it was warranted to be kicked out,” he said.

“There was a back and forth between two grown men, he said his piece, I said my piece, then someone else jumped into it and said their piece.

“I don’t think they should have been kicked out...but they might have had a couple of drinks maybe, and they could have probably kept it going during the game and it wouldn’t have been about the game no more.

“I think the referees did what they had to do.”

However James’ tweet clearly saw him come out on top, with not only his own teammates but even rivals from around the NBA getting in on the joke with the four-time champion.

A day after the incident, Carlos uploaded something of a peace offering to Instagram, admitting things had gotten out of hand.

“About last night, to say say things escalated quickly at yesterday’s game is an understatement, and I want to apologise for losing my cool and removing my mask in the heat of the moment,” she said.

“My husband is a huge sports fan and we’re both passionate people, and let’s be real; sports wouldn’t be sports without a little trash talking.

“What should have been a quick back and forth between two adults got out of hand and my natural instinct to stand up for the man I love kicked in.

“Did I get defensive when that happened? Yes. Did I use offensive language when I could have taken a higher road? Yes.

“And for these things, I take full responsibility.”
