Orlando Magic forward Jonathan Isaac was stretchered off the court on Wednesday afternoon at Capital One Arena just minutes into their matchup with the Washington Wizards after suffering a knee injury.
Isaac, after grabbing a steal near mid-court, took off and tried to finish the layup on the other end.
‘HORRIBLE LOSS’: America devastated by NBA legend's tragic death
As he made contact with Wizards star Bradley Beal in the paint, however, Isaac’s left knee appeared to give way. He grabbed it immediately in pain as he fell to the floor, where he remained for several minutes.
Isaac was eventually carted off the floor into the locker room.
The Magic later announced that Isaac suffered a hyperextended left knee. He will undergo an MRI and be evaluated on Thursday after the team returns to Orlando.
Fans and commentators were left in shock over the horrible scenes.
Wow. Jonathan Isaac is now getting carted off. Looked like a knee injury and, judging by player reactions, it was serious. Tough to see for such a talented young player.— Chase Hughes (@ChaseHughesNBCS) January 1, 2020
Oh dear. Stretcher for Jonathan Isaac. This is absolutely awful. #Magic— Jon Alba (@JonAlba) January 1, 2020
