'We F***ing suck': NBA star pans team over 'utter embarrassment'

Golden State star Draymond Green has taken a brutal shot at his own team after a horror loss against Oklahoma City that's been mercilessly mocked by fans.

Life was always going to be tough for the Warriors this season after seeing Kevin Durant jump ship and with injured Klay Thompson out for the majority of the campaign.

The reality is as bad as many basketball fans predicted. It may even be worse if their latest debacle is anything to go by.

Golden State - for so many years a dominant force in the competition - were given a brutal reality check against a ruthless Thunder side.

Dennis Schroder scored 22 points as OKC blew out the visiting Golden State Warriors 120-92.

It was painful viewing for Warriors fans as the team slumped to a 22-year low in the first half.

The Thunder dominated from the start, scoring the game's first eight points.

The margin was less than double digits for only about six minutes of game action with Oklahoma City leading 70-37 at halftime.

The Warriors' 33-point halftime deficit was their worst since March 1997.

Three-time NBA champion Green gave a blunt assessment of his side after the match.

"I would like to see us play harder," Green said after the Warriors' second successive defeat.

"But the reality is we f--king suck right now."

Green's forthright sentiment was overwhelmingly shared by fans who mercilessly mocked Golden State's fall from grace on social media, with superstar Steph Curry copping the brunt of criticism.

Warriors stats make for painful reading

The numbers behind Golden State's early season struggles makes for grim reading, particularly their defensive vulnerabilities.

The Warriors have given up an average of 130.5 points per game in losses to the Los Angeles Clippers and Thunder to open the season.

Oklahoma City scored 35 points in each of the first three quarters to steadily stretch their lead.

Curry led Golden State with 23 points but was just 2 of 9 from behind the 3-point line - as his side made just five of 33 three-point attempts.

No other Golden State player scored more than 10 points.

Danilo Gallinari added 21 points and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander 19 in the win. The Thunder made 15 3-pointers, four by Gallinari.

A bad afternoon got worse for the Warriors midway through the third quarter when D'Angelo Russell was ejected with them down by 32 after arguing a no-call.

He kept following referee James Williams to continue the conversation, eventually picking up a second technical.
