Naked freestyle skier takes huge fall

Unhinged isn’t the right word but certainly people who devote their lives to following the winter in the mountains have a sense of adventure and shy away form the norm.

So when Thredbo hosted the One Hit Wonder jumps competition over the weekend there was always going to be shenanigans.

But still, this might even have surprised the hard-to-shock masses on stand to watch.

Canadian Australia freestyle skier Sam Ruttiman took what is being described as the biggest jump in Australia wearing just his skis and a helmet.

Yes, naked.

And didn’t it end badly.

Wiping out on such a huge jump is bad enough. But Rattiman had to deal with snow burn to delicate parts as well as the gale of laughter from his friend filming and all those gathered to watch the spectacle.

He probably did not have to pay for a beer that night though.

The competition was won Swiss skier Elias Ambuhl who landed the first ever triple cork 1620 in Australia. With clothes on as well.
