Monfils' insane shot leaves Leconte speechless

Live-wire Frenchman Gael Monfils has a penchant for making the impossible seem reasonable and last night was no different as he pulled off a string of remarkable shots.

During the second set against Milos Raonic, Monfils defied logic, playing this amazing shot with both knees on the ground whilst serving for the set.

“That’s an unbelievable shot!” said French commentator Henri Leconte.

“That was break-dancing.

“Look at that, you can’t do that.”

Monfils was in the thick of it again earlier in the set, hitting the ball straight at chair umpire John Blom.

Monfils was attempting to return a Raonic serve when he accidentally sent the ball rocketing straight at the main official.

For all the entertaining shots, it wasn't enough to get Monfils into the semi-finals as he fell 6-3 3-6 6-3 6-4 to no.13 seed MIlos Raonic in two hours and 17 minutes.

Monfils has been entertaining all tournament, nearly pulling off this spectacular shot in the earlier rounds.
