UFC boss makes 'real offer' for Mayweather-McGregor super fight

UFC boss Dana White has hit back at boxing great Floyd Mayweather during a fiery interview where he set the terms for a super fight with Conor McGregor.

White appeared on American sports program 'The Herd' with Colin Cowherd where made an offer to Mayweather and McGregor to put the fight together on pay-per-view.

"I'll tell you what Floyd, here's a real offer and I'm the guy, I'm the guy that can actually make the offer and I'm actually making a real offer," White said.

We pay you $25 million, we'll pay Conor $25 million and then we'll talk about pay-per-view at a certain number. There's a real offer."

The UFC boss didn’t miss the chance to stick the boot into Mayweather, claiming the American's pulling power was nothing compared to the Irish fighter.

"How are you the A-side?" White asked of Mayweather.

"The last fight that you were in you left such a bad taste in everyone’s mouth that nobody wants to see you again."

“His (Mayweather’s) last fight did 350,000 pay-per-view buys. Conor did 1.3 and 1.5 million pay-per-view buys.”

McGregor, the reigning lightweight and former featherweight UFC champion, has been challenging Mayweather to a fight for months.

The American boxer offered the Irishman $US15 million ($A20m) and a percentage of pay-per-view sales for a crossover boxing bout.

Mayweather, who retired in September 2015 after accumulating a 49-0 record, told ESPN he would require a guaranteed $US100 million ($A134m) to make the fight happen.

"I'm a businessman and it makes business sense," the 39-year-old American said.

"Bring him over to the boxing world, and I'll show him what it's like."
