UFC star kicks opponent into another dimension for brutal KO

Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone scored his 19th win inside the Octagon on Sunday when he knocked out Matt Brown in the UFC 206 co-main event in Toronto, Canada.

Everyone expected fireworks when the matchup was announced, and that's what they got. The two fighters met in the centre of the cage and went to war. Cerrone landed his jab and worked kicks into his striking attack while Brown loaded up with right hands. Cerrone landed two head kicks in the opening round, but was knocked down by Brown in the closing seconds of the frame.

Brown dropped Cerrone with a right hand early in the second round. Cerrone recovered and knocked Brown down with a high kick. Cerrone began to take over the striking exchanges, opening up cuts above both of Brown's eyes. Brown fired back, but was bloodied heading back to his corner after the second round.

The two touched gloves and had a brief hug to start the final fame. Brown secured a takedown, but Cerrone immediately got back to his feet. As Brown dipped down, Cerrone unloaded a head kick that that landed flush and left Brown unconscious on his back. It was a walk-off KO for Cerrone.

"It came natural. We work hard on our striking," said Cerrone about the knockout finish.

With his fourth consecutive win at welterweight in the books, Cerrone said that he wants to get back in the cage at the end of January.

"I knew that he was going to come hard. I knew he was looking for the finish, but I'm wondering about Denver, Colorado in a few weeks," he said.
