Alvarez mocks McGregor in ultimate UFC sledge
If the fuse wasn’t already lit for UFC 205, Eddie Alvarez has poured more fuel on the fire with a brutal sledge on Conor McGregor.
The UFC lightweight champion took to the stage last week for a staredown with McGregor, who he mockingly described as the most unintimidating fighter he’s ever crossed paths with.
"Usually when I square off with a man, my heart rate goes up and I feel something, Alvarez said on the MMA Hour.
“I've never felt so unthreatened by a human being as I did when I was up on stage with him.”
“That’s the God’s honest truth, I’ve never felt so unthreatened.”
Alvarez said the featherweight champion didn’t possess the same skill-set as some of his previous opponents, and claimed the Irishman would represent his easiest payday in some time.
The American pointed to McGregor’s last fight as evidence the trash-talking brawler won’t be able to match him in the octagon.
“The conditioning aspect is just not a good level of conditioning,” the lightweight champ said.
“The last Nate Diaz fight was a very big eye opener for me.”
