McGregor wins epic Diaz rematch by decision

Conor McGregor wanted revenge against Nate Diaz and that's exactly what he got in Las Vegas, winning their epic five-round battle at UFC 202.

The Irishman edged Diaz by majority decision 47-48, 47-47, 47-48, hitting back at critics who claimed Diaz was sure to beat him again.

"Surprise surprise mother f***** the King is back,” McGregor said after the fight.

“I proved the class difference. It was a hell of a fight, he is a hell of a competitor.

“I dropped him in the third round but then he started loading up.

“It’s 1-1, let’s do it again. If you want this trilogy its on my terms. Come down to 155 and we’ll do it.”

A rematch between these two would surely be the biggest UFC even ever, completing the trilogy after Diaz shocked McGregor at UFC 196 back in March.

McGregor slowly worked at Diaz, repeatedly landing blows to his right leg and although Diaz landed more punches, McGregor's were more devastating.

McGregor successfully avoided several takedown attempts, with Diaz aiming for another submission victory.

He eventually got McGregor to the ground with just 10 seconds to go, but it was left too late.
