Fighter slams 'clown' opponent for celebrating brutal KO

Evangelista 'Cyborg' Santos has put Michael Page on blast after the latter produced a comical Pokemon celebration after shattering his opponent's skull.

Santos suffered a fractured skull from Page's flying knee in the second round of their Bellator 158 meeting in London on the weekend and immediately went down in agony, prompting the referee to call the contest off.

Immediately after the brutal KO, Page celebrated by rolling a prop Pokeball towards the incapacitated Santos.

Page drew headlines for the 'hilarious' act, but Santos' ex-wife Cristiane "Cyborg" Justino took to social media to reveal the full extent of his injuries.

Santos' skull was dented and Justino asked for thoughts, prayers and donations as Santos recovered in hospital.

Page couldn't have known the serious nature of the injury and the British welterweight did go on to respectfully express his best wishes.

But that hasn't stopped Santos slamming Page's brash celebrations.

"Page proved he's a great athlete, a skillful striker," Santos said. "But he's showing to be a douchebag because he doesn't respect his opponents before or after the fight. He's using bad people as influences.

"He could become a celebrity with his talent and look up to other athletes, instead of acting like this. This generation looks up to (Conor) McGregor as an influence, and it's not what being a competitor is about. Throwing things after the fight...Honestly, he's a clown. The way he behaves is not how a champion should behave. He's talented, yes. He's skillful. And he fought a great fight."

As it turns out, Santos didn't even spend the night in hospital after the fight and he is currently awaiting surgery in the United States.

"It's only a fracture, it didn't hit my brain. I'm fine," Santos added. "I’ll be back soon. Thank God I had no brain damage."
