UFC's Almeida produces savage knockout
This has to be up there in the pantheon of great UFC knockouts!
Brazilian UFC bantamweight Thomas Almeida rocked American Anthony Birchak with this savage knockout in the opening round of their Fight Night showdown in Sao Paulo.
Almeida caught him with a left hook before unleashing a flurry of brutal blows, leaving Birchak in a heap on the canvas.
“I didn’t realise what just happened,” Almeida was quoted as told MMA Junkie.
“I was prepared, trained a lot, and this bout had something special. It was in Sao Paulo, my hometown. It gave me a greater motivation. I put pressure on myself, and I’m really happy and thrilled for having people in my team that I love and helped me to win.”
Twitter was quick to erupt with praise for the powerful Almeida.

That was a ridiculous knockout! You can't fight Almeida in a shootout. Gotta be slow and controlled. That's how I win that match-up. #UFCSP
