Mitchell Starc and Alyssa Healy in $8.5m win after nervous wait for cricket couple
The Australian cricket stars have received more welcome news amid a big 12 months.
Mitchell Starc and Alyssa Healy have finally found a buyer for their North Curl Curl home in Sydney after it originally attracted no bidders last year. The five-bedroom home failed to sell last year at its $9 million listing price, but the Aussie cricket power couple have now found a buyer at a reported $8.5 million.
The home went back on the market at $8 million recently, and has reportedly sold ahead of a planned auction this weekend. Starc and Healy purchased the property from former Miss Universe contestant Jennifer Hawkins and husband Jake Wall in 2016 for $5,235,000 - giving them a profit in excess of $3 million.

The windfall comes after the cricket stars splashed out a whopping $24.5 million on an estate in Terrey Hills called Charlotte Park late last year. They purchased their new residence from Simone and Darren Mills - co-founder of luxury home building firm Cadence.
The sale of their North Curl Curl home will come as a relief after a nervous few months of little interest. Starc and Healy are clearly not short on cash, with the former snaring a record $4.4 million contract late last year to play in the IPL in 2024.
Starc has shunned the lucrative T20 tournament in India for the better part of a decade, opting to focus on Test cricket and family instead. The fast bowler hasn't played in the IPL since 2015, turning his back on the riches of franchise cricket to focus on his country and spend more time with his family - including wife Healy.
With Healy also a professional cricketer and traveling around the world, the IPL window presents the perfect two-month period for Starc to be at home with his wife. But with the T20 World Cup set to take place just after the IPL later this year, Starc has been encouraged by Cricket Australia to end his eight-year hiatus.
Mitchell Starc has no regrets despite missing out on $10 million
The decision not to play IPL has seen him miss out on an estimated $15 million throughout his career, and with the $4.4m contract for 2024 he's still down about $10m. But the 33-year-old he has no regrets.
"Juggling one cricket schedule is hard enough, let alone when there's two in a relationship," he said in December. "So I've always spent that time away from cricket with Alyssa or time with family and recharging my body for being as fit and as ready as I can for Australian cricket.
"I don't regret any of it. I think it's certainly helped my Test cricket. The money is always nice and certainly was this year but I've always prioritised international cricket and I think that's helped my game."
Starc revealed previously that it was actually Healy who informed him they were $4.4m richer. Healy was in India at the time preparing to lead Australia in the women's cricket Test in Mumbai, and received the news a a little earlier than her husband.
“I’m not sure any words would do it justice, really,“ Starc said in an interview with Star Sports. “Alyssa was over there with the Australian team at the minute, so her coverage was slightly ahead of mine here in Australia. So she sort of saw the numbers before I did, so I was getting the updates through her.
"But, yeah, a fair bit of shock, and certainly excitement with how it was all unfolding. But nothing that I could’ve ever imagined."
