Milford denies Naiqama try with deceptive move
Anthony Milford is the latest player to take advantage of the obstruction rule, with this shifty manoeuvre denying Kevin Naiqama a certain try.
The referee called no try and sent it to the bunker for confirmation of an obstruction on Kyle Lovett.
The replay showed Lovett stopped at the Broncos defensive line, taking out Anthony Milford, but on closer inspection Milford played a big role in exaggerating the contact, dragging Lovett down with him.
At least the Tigers saw the funny side.
Great tackle there on Kyle Lovett by Anthony Milford... 😂#NRLBroncosTigers

Milford milked that for all its worth. Should not be rewarding that #NRLBroncosTigers

any defender caught dragging down an attacking player/decoy player should make an obstruction ruling null and void #NRLBroncosTigers

That's been No Try all year. How can you just change your mind arbitrarily here? Textbook obstruction. #NRLBroncosTigers
