Mike Tyson and Jake Paul blasted over 'embarrassing' boxing farce after decision uproar

Mike Tyson and Jake Paul have been called out for their bizarre fight.

The boxing world has exploded with anger with Jake Paul defeating Mike Tyson in a bizarre showing with the co-main event erupting in chaos with Amanda Serrano seemingly robbed of winning the world title against Katie Taylor. Jake Paul defeated Tyson with the great heavyweight champion struggling after the second round in a slow and lacklustre bout.

Fans were left utterly disappointed with the bout with Paul dominating his 58-year-old opponent with very few punches landed in the fight. Paul out landed Tyson with ease as the former champ was mainly stationary towards the end of each round.

And fans let their feelings known over the bout with fans booing during round six with so little happening. After the fight, Tyson shut down the critics saying he shouldn't box at 58 years old and claimed he was not trying to prove anything to anyone.

"I didn't prove nothing to anyone, only to myself," Tyson said after the fight. Viewers around the world were less than impressed and blasted the spectacle.

With the sporting world waiting for Tyson and Paul to take to the stage, a rematch of one of the best women's fights in boxing history took place in the co main-event. And Serrano put in a stunning effort in what appeared to be a title winning performance to revenge her career loss to Taylor.

Serrano celebrated after the fight, while Taylor seemed dejected with the Puerto Rican landing more than 100 punches across the 10 rounds compared to her opponent.

However, all three judges handed the victory to Taylor who looked visibly stunned after the result was read out. Boos echoed around the arena as Serrano struggled to hide her emotion having outboxed her opponent with a nasty gash across her eyebrow.

"I cannot sit here... you cannot take anything away from Katie Taylor and her legacy but...how does one rob Amanda Serrano like that?" Mauro Ranallo said in commentary.

While Serrano was devastated at the loss she was all class in defeat and admitted her cut above the eye took a toll. “Every time you get a cut it bothers you,” she said.

“You get blood in your eye, it hurts. She kept headbutting me and that’s something she has done before. I think 100 per cent (the headbutts were deliberate). It’s not the first time. She did it to me, she did it to Cameron. It is what it is. I’m a champion no matter what.”

And years later at 58 years old fans are concerned about Tyson's wellbeing. British promoter Hearn was candid when asked about the fight and said Tyson shouldn't be stepping into the ring at 58 years old against a younger opponent who is training full-time.

“Twenty years ago, Mike Tyson retired from boxing, and was shot to pieces, right? I mean, completely shot,” Hearn said this week ahead of the fight. “If anyone thinks that Mike Tyson should be in a ring at this age, you either have absolutely no emotional feelings toward the man, or you’re an idiot. It shouldn’t be happening.”

And he wasn't the only critic of the bout. Rival promoter Warren agreed with Hearn. “Mike Tyson is 58 years of age and he shouldn’t be fighting,” Warren said months ago after the fight was officially announced. “It’s as simple as that.

“Anyone with an ounce of brains knows that it is ridiculous. You can be on a motorway stuck in a traffic jam and you get to the end of it and all it is people who have stopped to look at a crash — and that’s what this is.”
