Van Gerwen makes history with incredible display of perfection

Dutch World No.1 Michael van Gerwen has become just the second player in darts history to score two perfect frames in one match.

A perfect frame involves throwing the minimum nine darts on the way to a 501 score.

Van Gerwen continued his incredible run of recent form by hitting two nine-dart frames to beat Ryan Murray in the third round of the UK Open qualifying event in Wigan.

The Dutchman is just the second player to achieve the feat, joining 16-time world champion Phil 'The Power' Taylor.

Taylor hit two perfect frames during his victory over James Wade in the 2010 Premier League Darts final.
