Gold Trip stunned the pack to win the 162nd edition of the great race, beating Emissary and High Emocean to give jockey Mark Zahra his first victory.
Interpretation failed to finish, although connections to the horse say it is doing OK.
Camorra was listed as the last horse to cross the finish line on a wet and windy day.

The 162nd edition of Melbourne Cup day is officially over, with Gold Trip the winner of the big race.

We almost got through all 10 races at Flemington without the really nasty stuff but it's coming down now.
The heavens have opened up and the afternoon hail that had been predicted for Flemington is lashing the track.
The horses were heading back to the mounting yard but conditions have cleared again and we should be racing soon.
It certainly put a bit of a dampener on the celebrations for racegoers though.
No 'significant findings' for Cup horses
More on Irish stayer Interpretation now, with Racing Victoria (RV) confirming the horse avoided significant injury.
Interpretation "pulled up OK" according to reports, despite the fact it failed to finish the Melbourne Cup.
RV added that post-race examinations did not reveal any "significant findings to any Melbourne Cup runners at this time".
Camorra was listed as the last horse to cross the finish line in the Melbourne Cup after also struggling.

Horse fails to finish in Melbourne Cup
Interpretation failed to cross the finish line in a slightly worrying sign at the Melbourne Cup.
According to Racing Australia reports, however, a stable representative indicated that the horse was doing OK.
Three other hopes - Camorra, Serpentine and Numerian were well back in the 22-horse field but were listed to have crossed the finish line.
