Meet the Americans competing in the 2024 Augusta National Women’s Amateur field

The world’s best women’s amateur golfers are heading back down Magnolia Lane.

The fifth Augusta National Women’s Amateur tees off this week with 47 of the top 50 players in the women’s World Amateur Golf Ranking dreaming of hoisting the trophy on the 18th green.

The field of 72 – 36 Americans and 36 internationals – will play two rounds of stroke play at nearby Champions Retreat Golf Club on Wednesday, April 3, and Thursday, April 4, with the top 30 players advancing to the final round on Saturday, April 6. The entire field will play Augusta National for a practice round Friday, April 5.

Amari Avery

Avery has advanced to the final round at Augusta National in each of the past two years, finishing T-4 in 2022 and T-29 in 2023. She has four top-12 finishes this season, including a win in the Leadership and Golf Invitational at Chambers Bay in Washington last fall and runner-up in the Pac-12 Preview in Hawaii in February.

Hailey Borja

She advanced to the final round in her debut in 2022, finishing T-12. The four-time All-Big-Ten Conference selection has four top-10 finishes this season, including T-8 in both the Gators Invitational and Valspar Augusta Invitational in March. She was a U.S. Women’s Amateur semifinalist last year.

Phoebe Brinker

Brinker has five top-25 finishes this season, including a win in the Annika Intercollegiate and T-5 in the Landfall Tradition last fall. She won the 2022 ACC individual championship.

Zoe Antoinette Campos

In the inaugural championship in 2019 at the age of 16, she shared the opening-round lead and shot a final-round 72 at Augusta National to finish T-5. Last December, she was among 12 players invited to participate in the 2024 U.S. Curtis Cup practice session in January at Seminole Golf Club in Florida.

Jensen Castle

The 2021 U.S. Women’s Amateur champion has advanced to the final round at Augusta National in each of the past two years, finishing T-12 in 2022 and T-26 in 2023. Castle has three top-25 finishes this season, including T-15 in the Nexus Collegiate in the Bahamas in February.

Leigh Chien

Age: 18

ANWA history: First appearance

The four-time junior All-American will make her Augusta National Women’s Amateur debut. In 2016, she was a Drive, Chip and Putt National Finalist and finished fourth in the Girls 10-11 age division at Augusta National.

Gianna Clemente

The 2023 Girls’ Junior PGA champion will make her second Augusta National Women’s Amateur appearance. She advanced to the final round in her debut last year at the age of 15, finishing T-14.

Hailee Cooper

Age: 24
Hometown: Montgomery, Texas
Education: Texas/Texas A&M graduate
ANWA history: First appearance

The 24-year-old will make her Augusta National Women’s Amateur debut. She was scheduled to compete in the 2021 championship but had to withdraw after testing positive for COVID-19. In her final collegiate season, she helped Texas A&M reach match play in the 2023 NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Championships and had three top-10 finishes.

Anna Davis

The 2022 Augusta National Women’s Amateur champion will make her third appearance. Her final-round 69 at Augusta National two years ago included birdies at Nos. 2, 9, 12 and 13 and was enough for a one-stroke victory over Ingrid Lindblad and Latanna Stone.

Sadie Englemann

She has four top-10 finishes this season, including a win in the East Lake Cup at Atlanta Athletic Club last fall, T-4 in the Pac-12 Preview in February and T-5 in the Juli Inkster at Meadow Club Invitational in March. In 2023, she earned Second Team All-America honors as a junior.

Maisie Filler

Since last October, she has earned her first three collegiate wins, won the Jones/Doherty Women’s Amateur and went 3-0-0 in the Therese Hession Regional Challenge.

Laney Frye

Last December, she was among 12 players invited to participate in the 2024 U.S. Curtis Cup practice session in January at Seminole Golf Club in Florida. Megha Ganne

In 2023, she advanced to the final round and finished T-9. Before her debut in this championship in 2021, she was a four-time Drive, Chip and Putt National Finalist at Augusta National, competing in 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2019. She was runner-up in the Girls 12-13 division in 2017 and the Girls 14-15 division in 2019.

Melanie Green

Age: 22
Hometown: Medina, New York
Education: South Florida, senior
ANWA history: First appearance

Since last September, she has eight top-six finishes in World Amateur Golf Ranking events. She won the FAU Paradise Invitational in February, won the MountainView Collegiate in March and finished runner-up in the Glass City Invitational, Hurricane Invitational and Patriot All-America Invitational late last year.

Rachel Heck

She has advanced to the final round twice, finishing T-3 in 2021 and T-27 in 2022. She started her 2023-2024 collegiate season last fall with a T-22 finish in the Carmel Cup at Pebble Beach. Also in 2023, she reached the semifinals of the U.S. Women’s Amateur and represented the United States in the Pan American Games in Chile.

Jasmine Koo

Last July at White Eagle Golf Club in Illinois, she defeated Sadie Englemann in the final, 4&2, to join a list of champions that includes Patty Berg, Louise Suggs, Nancy Lopez, Beth Daniel, Stacy Lewis and Ariya Jutanugarn.

Rachel Kuehn

The four-time All-American at Wake Forest University will make her fourth Augusta National Women’s Amateur appearance. In 2022, she advanced to the final round at Augusta National and birdied four of her first seven holes to shoot 69 and finish seventh.

Emma McMyler

Ashley Menne

Emilia Migliaccio

She will become the only golfer to play in every edition of the championship. Three years ago, she closed with a final-round 70 at Augusta National before losing in a playoff to Japan’s Tsubasa Kajitani. With a win, she would have been the second consecutive Wake Forest golfer to win following teammate Jennifer Kupcho’s victory in 2019.

Anna Morgan

The 2023 North and South Women’s Amateur champion will make her third Augusta National Women’s Amateur appearance. She advanced to the final round at Augusta National in her debut in 2022, finishing T-21.

Lauryn Nguyen

ANWA history: First appearance

She has five top-15 finishes this season, including a win in the Windy City Collegiate Classic last fall. In 2022, she won the Pacific Northwest Women’s Amateur and finished third in the Washington State Women’s Amateur.

Last July at the United States Air Force Academy’s Eisenhower Golf Club in Colorado, she defeated the Philippines’ Rianne Mikhaela Malixi in the final, 1 up, to join a list of champions that includes Mickey Wright, Hollis Stacy, Nancy Lopez, Inbee Park, Lexi Thompson, Minjee Lee, Rose Zhang and Yana Wilson.

Latanna Stone

Talley is a two-time Drive, Chip and Putt National Finalist, finishing runner-up in the Girls 7-9 age division in 2018 and fifth in the Girls 12-13 age division in 2022 at Augusta National. She has three top-15 finishes in 2024, including a six-stroke victory in the Girls’ Junior Invitational at Sage Valley in South Carolina in March.

Casey Weidenfeld

She has three top-six finishes this season, including runner-up in both the Mason Rudolph Women’s Championship and Tar Heel Invitational last fall. Also in 2023, she reached the quarterfinals of the Women’s Western Amateur, the Round of 16 in the North and South Women’s Amateur and the Round of 32 in the U.S. Women’s Amateur.

Yana Wilson
