Mathews fit for India-Sri Lanka series decider
Angelo Mathews is winning his race to be fit for Sri Lanka's deciding one-day international with India on Sunday.
The all-rounder suffered from cramps during Wednesday's second ODI, but struggled on to make an unbeaten 111 in a losing cause as India prevailed by 141 runs to level the three-match series at 1-1.
There were doubts over Mathews' availability for this weekend's decider at Visakhapatnam, but those concerns have been laid to rest after he took a full part in training on Friday.
"Angelo Mathews is fit. He suffered from cramps at the end of the last game. However, he has recovered," said Sri Lanka team manager Asanka Gurusinha.
"He bowled as well as batted in the nets today. All our 15 members are fit and available for selection."
Following the conclusion of the ODI series, Sri Lanka's new head coach Chandika Hathurusingha will take over from interim Nic Pothas, in time for three Twenty20s starting December 20.
