Manchester United tipped to sign Sofyan Amrabat after £21m target left out of Fiorentina squad
Fiorentina have left Sofyan Amrabat out of their squad for tonight’s Europa Conference League play-off tie, raising expectations that he will sign for Manchester United.
The Moroccan midfielder was initially registered for Fiorentina’s trip to Rapid Vienna but has not made the matchday squad amid the speculation over his future.
While the official reasoning has not been confirmed, Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport report on Amrabat’s likely move away being behind his absence.
It has been claimed that Fiorentina want a fee in the region of £21million for the United target.
Liverpool have also been linked with Amrabat in their search for midfield reinforcements. However, the player is said to prefer a move to Old Trafford.
Erik ten Hag is reportedly keen on signing a new midfielder and United’s plans may have changed in recent days, with Mason Mount ruled out for several weeks with a hamstring injury.
Scott McTominay’s future could be intertwined with Mount’s lay-off amid interest from West Ham, however Amrabat’s arrival could push the Scot towards the exit door.
