Manchester United injury update: Luke Shaw, Leny Yoro and Tyrell Malacia latest news and return dates
Manchester United face another busy week.
Erik ten Hag’s side drew 0-0 with Crystal Palace on Saturday evening and have welcomed back some key players as the fixtures pile up thick and fast.
Rasmus Hojlund made a late cameo at Selhurst Park, while Mason Mount was also in the squad after the pair recovered from muscle injuries.
The double boost affords Ten Hag options ahead of their Europa League opener against FC Twente on Wednesday before they meet Tottenham in the Premier League on Sunday.
With that in mind, here’s a look at the latest Manchester United injuries…
Luke Shaw
England defender Luke Shaw is yet to make an appearance for Manchester United this season but is thought to be progressing well on his return from a calf injury sustained over the course of the summer.
"He's progressing but not yet ready to be selected,” said Ten Hag last week.
“He is progressing well, of course we have a plan in our head when he can be ready but you're always dependent on how the progress will go and you can't think, you can't make a suggestion because there are so many factors, a plan can accelerate or slow down."
Potential return date: October 2024
Leny Yoro
Summer signing Leny Yoro injured his foot while away on pre-season duty with the club and has not yet made a competitive appearance.
Having undergone surgery, the former Lille defender is expected back in November.
Potential return date: November 2024
Tyrell Malacia
Tyrell Malacia has not played for United for well over a year now but is expected to return imminently after a serious knee injury.
Potential return date: October 2024
Victor Lindelof
Victor Lindelof is another United defender not to have played this season but returned to training ahead of the Palace game following a toe injury.
With that in mind, it would not be a surprise to see the Sweden international back in action soon.
Potential return date: October 2024
