Man City injury update: Kyle Walker, Ederson, Nathan Ake latest news and return dates

Manchester City produced an impressive performance as they beat Aston Villa 4-1 without creating any new injury problems for Pep Guardiola.

Phil Foden starred against Villa, scoring his second hat-trick of the season, with Guardiola opting to rest both Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne.

Nathan Ake was missing after limping off 27 minutes into Sunday’s dire draw with fellow title challengers Arsenal.

Kyle Walker and Ederson are also currently out due to injury, but City have a clean bill of health in both midfield and attack as they aim to win an unprecedented fourth Premier League title in a row.

City travel to Crystal Palace on Saturday lunchtime, hoping to keep the pressure up on rivals Liverpool and Arsenal.

Here is your latest update of Manchester City injury news and return dates…

Nathan Ake

The Dutch international sustained a calf injury early on in last weekend’s stalemate against Arsenal.

The 29-year-old defender was not included in City’s squad as they then brushed aside Champions League hopefuls Villa.

“I don’t know exactly the timing,” Guardiola commented. “For sure, the next games he won’t be ready.”

Potential return date: Late April 2024

A hamstring injury has kept him out of the last two games. Guardiola has provided no exact timeline and it remains to be seen when Walker will be in a position to return.

Ederson

Ederson damaged his thigh during the 1-1 draw with Liverpool at Anfield before the international break.

Deputy Stefan Ortega stepped in for the Brazilian shot-stopper against both Arsenal and Aston Villa.
