Crazy pile-up causes 'millions and millions in damage'
An unbelievable crash involving no fewer than 12 cars has caused utter chaos at the Macau Grand Prix.
The crazy pile-up occurred on the very first lap of the race on Saturday, with commentators gobsmacked by what they were witnessing.
"Mayhem!" one screamed during the broadcast.
"That is millions and millions and millions of dollars in damage.
"That is one of the worst GT accidents I've ever seen here."
Mercedes-AMG Team GruppeM Racing driver Raffaele Marciello was thanking his lucky stars after the crash.
“I was lucky and I am happy to be alive. It’s a special track but it’s also scary,” Marciello said.

German racer Maro Engel also lamented the chaos.
“It’s not want you want to see,” Engel said.
“Hopefully we can get some of these cars back on track by tomorrow and have a race.”
Remarkably, no one was injured in the crash, but it was a very sad weekend in Macau as British motorbike rider Daniel Hegarty died after a crash in the bikes race.
The 31-year-old Topgun Racing Honda rider crashed at the Fisherman's Bend on the sixth lap of the race of the tight street course and died of his injuries en route to hospital.
