Liverpool 'identify Mohamed Salah replacements' with Borussia Dortmund ace Karim Adeyemi on wishlist
Liverpool have reportedly identified Borussia Dortmund winger Karim Adeyemi as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah.
Salah has entered the final year of his £350,000-a-week contract at Anfield and is free to speak to overseas clubs as early as January.
And according to Sky Germany, the Reds are considering Dortmund’s Adeyemi if they do lose the Egypt international.
Adeyemi has impressed for Dortmund so far this season, scoring five goals in eight games including a first-half hat-trick during their 7-1 thrashing of Celtic.
The 22-year-old is currently sidelined with a muscle issue and his injury record is thought to have put off some suitors.
Salah has started the season in impressive form for Liverpool himself, scoring six times in 10 games.
Clubs in the Saudi Pro League are interested in Salah, with the Reds turning down a £150million offer from Al-Ittahad last September.
But after helping Liverpool beat Manchester United 3-1 last month, the 32-year-old insisted he hadn’t spoken with the club about an extension.
"I was coming to the game, I was saying, 'look, it could be the last time'," Salah said.
"Nobody in the club talked to me yet about contracts so I was just like, 'OK, I play my last season and see at the end of the season'.
"I feel I am free to play football – we will see what happens next year.”
