We are back for the second half in Knoxville and the Vols' offensive struggles continue. They just punted after starting the third quarter with the ball.

Illinois fakes a punt and gets 36 yards on it! Luke Altmyer finishes off the drive with a short TD run and the Illini are up 21-7 in Champaign.

Here's where things stand in the games involving ranked teams going on right now:

The Tide had worked their way past midfield toward the end of the first half and attempted a 54-yarder by Graham Nicholson, who missed the mark.

For the Vols, that's the third straight scoreless first half — first time they've done that since 1963.

The Buffaloes are in the end zone after all those turnovers with a short scramble by Shedeur Sanders.

On the very next play, Tennessee backup Gaston Moore threw an ill-advised deep ball and Malachi Moore intercepts it and returns it 41 yards.

The Tennessee quarterback was taken down awkwardly and went to the medical tent after this hit.

Meanwhile, Illinois has taken command early in its Big Ten showdown with Michigan. After two early field goals, Luke Altmyer finds Tanner Arkin in the corner of the end zone for the score.

Who else but the star freshman wideout to get things started in Knoxville? After a scoreless first quarter, Alabama drives down and scores the game's first TD on a pass from Jalen Milroe to Ryan Williams.

Shedeur Sanders has his first touchdown pass of the day, connecting with Delon Miller for a short score.

The Vols can't do anything with that field position though as Max Gilbert's 52-yard attempt sails right. We're still scoreless in Knoxville.

The Crimson Tide were inside the Vols' 3-yard line when Jalen Milroe made a poor decision in throwing at Jermod McCoy, who returned it 54 yards to put Tennessee in great field position.

Meanwhile, Arizona started off the game with an onside kick and it didn't work. Then Shedeur Sanders led the Buffs on a quick drive for 7 points to take the early lead.

The Crimson Tide can't do much after the turnover and punt it back to the Vols.

The Volunteers had some momentum going with their first possession, but RB Dylan Sampson lost the ball while fighting for extra yardage and Alabama jumped on it.

The Hurricanes survive another close one thanks to Cam Ward, who finished with 319 passing yards and 4 touchdowns.

The Hurricanes recover the ensuing onside kick and that'll do it for this one.

The Cardinals finally reach the end zone on a short TD pass, but the Hurricanes may them work for it and bled precious time off the clock.

It's 52-45 with under a minute left.

The Hurricanes have the lead back in a flash. Cam Ward found Isaiah Horton on a 2-yard slant for the score, but it was Xavier Restrepo who did the majority of the work on the drive with a 63-yard catch and run.

What a turnaround! Just a minute and a half after Miami took a two-score lead, the Cardinals have now tied the game on a 21-yard pass from Tyler Shough to Ja'Corey Brooks. Game on!

And on Miami's first play of its possession, Cam Ward passed to Mark Fletcher Jr., who fumbled it right back to the Cardinals.
