It was a quick night of boxing on Saturday in Sheffield, England, with the main portion of the show totaling just seven rounds.

In the main event, Callum Simpson retained his British and Commonwealth super middleweight titles with a controversial stoppage win over Steed Woodall.

Woodall (19-3-1, 12 KOs) came out looking to put a dent in Simpson (16-0, 11 KOs) in the opening round, but Simpson managed to negate the threat with his jab. When they traded up close on the inside, Simpson was a dominant force in the exchanges.

In Round 2, Simpson drove Woodall into the ropes and connected with a right uppercut that buzzed him. Simpson followed it up with a barrage of punches, with the uppercut once again being the damaging punch. A left hook and a right hand came after it, and Woodall fell to the canvas.

After arising from the ground, the challenger was met by a ferocious Simpson, who was looking for the finish. Simpson landed another right hand, which prompted the referee to halt the contest.

Woodall was clearly hurt, but the attack following the knockdown in no way justified a stoppage. This was the biggest opportunity of Woodall's career, and he was left gutted to have it cut short.

On the undercard, Caroline Dubois — the sister of IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois — and Jessica Camara fought to a technical decision draw in their lightweight title bout.

WBC champion Dubois (10-0-1, 5 KOs) knocked Camara (14-3-1, 3 KOs) down with a left hand inside 45 seconds of the opening stanza. Camara managed to recover from the knockdown and the assault that followed it, but a clash of heads in Round 2 left Camara with a nasty cut over her left eye, which severely restricted her vision.

The bell rang for Round 3, but before the action could continue, the referee instructed the ringside doctor to take a look at Camara's eye damage. He decided that Camara was in no fit state to continue. As four rounds hadn't been completed at that point, the bout was ruled a technical decision draw, much to Dubois' disappointment, as she felt she was on her way to a stoppage win.

  • The big talking point of fight week!

The big discussion topic of the week in the U.K. has been a potential rematch between Ben Whittaker and Liam Cameron.

Ben Shalom's BOXXER, which is promoting tonight's show represents Whittaker, while Frank Warren's Queensberry Promotions handle Cameron.

Whittaker and Cameron battled to a controversial draw in October after Whittaker suffered a freak injury and the fight had to be called off after 5 completed rounds.

A technical decision couldn't split them, but many felt that Cameron deserved to upset the top prospect.

A rematch is in the works with Shalom claiming that he has offered Cameron's team what they asked for to take the rematch, but they had turned it down.

Cameron's promoter, Queensberry, made a statement on social media on Thursday morning, insisting that they were willing to offer more money for the fight. However, Shalom wouldn't let it take place away from a BOXXER show.

Today, Warren revealed to IFL TV that both himself and Liam Cameron have received legal letters from BOXXER.

More updates to follow on tonight's live blog if the story develops.
