Lexi Thompson announces New Year's Day engagement
Lexi Thompson’s 2025 got off to a memorable start with a snowy proposal from boyfriend Max Provost.
Thompson shared the happy news, as well as a photo of the dazzling ring, on Instagram Thursday. The couple were engaged on Jan. 1 in Whistler, Canada.
World No. 1 Nelly Korda was quick to offer well wishes.
Thompson, 29, announced last summer at the U.S. Women’s Open that 2024 would be her final full-time season on the LPGA. She has yet to reveal what events she plans to play in 2025, but left the door open to a partial schedule. As a past champion of the Chevron Championship, she’s eligible for the tour’s first major of the season.
An 11-time winner on the LPGA, Thompson was accompanied by Provost on the red carpet at the Solheim Cup D.C. gala last year. He was also on hand as she played her final official event of the 2024 LPGA season in Naples, Florida.
