Leicester sign Atalanta defender Okoli

Caleb Okoli in action for Frosinone

Leicester City have completed the signing of Atalanta defender Caleb Okoli on a five-year contract.

The 22-year-old centre-back, capped by Italy at under-21 level, made 17 appearances for Atalanta after coming through the club's academy.

Okoli spent last season on loan at Frosinone, featuring in 34 of the club's Serie A matches as they were relegated from the top flight.

"I think it was the right moment to make a different step forward and a very big one," Okoli told club media.

"I'm very happy with the choice I made, so I'm very excited to start in the Premier League.

"Leicester is a beautiful club, an important club and the two combined together, so I took this opportunity to come and express myself in the Premier League. The Premier League is the best league in the world."

The Foxes have added midfielder Michael Golding from Chelsea and forward Bobby Decordova-Reid from Fulham to their squad so far this summer.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall departed for Chelsea last week in a £30m deal.
