LeBron James chimed in on the Jimmy Butler Heat drama with a NSFW take about Pat Riley

In the current NBA landscape, few people probably understand Miami Heat president Pat Riley better than LeBron James. Now a Los Angeles Laker, James was famously the face of an early 2010s Heat team that went to four consecutive NBA Finals, winning two titles in the process. This naturally gave the all-time great some close insight into how Riley operates with his players and any sort of subordinates in the Heat organization.

As the fallout of the Jimmy Butler Miami saga continues to unfold with Butler losing his "revenge" game on Tuesday as a member of the Golden State Warriors, James explained why Riley almost always says it's his way or the highway in a Wednesday interview on The Pat McAfee Show. In short, James said that Riley will truly not budge for anyone for what he believes is better for the greater team.

I mean, that doesn't really feel surprising, does it?

To be sure, Riley's temperament is much more of the old-school variety during the NBA's player empowerment era. Superstars are seemingly emboldened and championed by NBA franchises more than ever now. That contrast in operation might at least be part of the reason why Butler's exit from Miami appeared so ugly from the outside looking in.

Nonetheless, as a basketball legend in his own right, Riley will likely always stick to his guns. For better or worse.
