Dragons admit: 'We choked'

Dragons legend Lance Thompson admitted the chokers tag could well be deserved on the Matty Johns Show.

Thompson agreed the 2005 finals loss to the Tigers was the moment the chokers myth began.

"We had the likes of Shaun Timmins, Trent Barret, Luke Bailey and Jason Ryles, Gasnier and Cooper in the centres... we should have won," he said.

"We relaxed.

"We got beaten in the first 20 minutes."

Thompson also said Wayne Bennett would have made a difference to the outcome if they had his experience to call on.
