Bellamy tells of personal trouble over rort

Melbourne Storm coach Craig Bellamy has told of his family's experiences during the fallout of his team's salary cap rort.

Bellamy, who has since been cleared of any wrong doing over the cap issue, spoke of the hardships his family faced in the days after the scandal was exposed.

"My mother is 77 years old and she couldn't walk down the street for three months after [because] people were thinking that I was involved," he said. "My daughter got sent home from work the next day because she was copping heaps from where she works, the customers there were giving her a hard time," Bellamy revealed.

Controversy Corner panellist Paul Kent apologised for his part in the scandal after he implied Bellamy must have known of the extra payments as coach of the Storm.

This assumption proved incorrect.

Bellamy finished by noting he may not have his premierships but he'll always have fond memories of the two successful but ultimately ill-fated campaigns.
