Trial wins for Storm, Knights and Warriors

Melbourne, Newcastle and New Zealand have all enjoyed NRL trial victories, while premiers South Sydney have come away with a draw.

The Storm have run out 44-12 winners over Queensland Cup side Easts Tigers at Goscher's Paddock in Melbourne.

Newcastle have worked out some off-season kinks with two breezy NSW mid north coast wins over the Port Macquarie Sharks and Wauchope Blues, 54-0 and 32-0.

In Rotarua, a largely rookie Warriors side have come up with an eye-catching 18-4 win over Penrith.

And the John Sutton-skippered Rabbitohs have salvaged a 20-all trial draw with Queensland's Northern Pride at Redfern Oval.
