7th Tackle: Tedesco's agent desperate for one big club
James Tedesco's camp is making massive overtures to entice a bid from the Roosters and they’ve gone as far as speaking directly to Anthony Minichiello about the club’s interest.
Minichiello and Tedesco have been close friends since representing Italy together at the 2013 World Cup.
So far there's been no joy, mostly due to the fact the Roosters board is refusing to deal with Tedesco’s new manager, Isaac Moses.
MORE 7TH TACKLE:
The desperation to get the Roosters involved might well indicate Tedesco is keen on a change of scenery, despite being offered $4.5 million to stay at the Tigers until the end of 2021.
Last week he expressed a desire to continue with a winning club – and the Roosters certainly look a lot more likely to fit than bill than the Tigers at present.
The Roosters have discussed spending up big on a new fullback for 2018, with both Tedesco and Jarryd Hayne mentioned as potential targets.
But for now they are keeping their powder dry.
Evergreen No. 1 Michael Gordon could well be offered another season on current form, while coach Trent Robinson also needs to give Connor Watson a permanent position.
Don't be surprised if Watson spends time at fullback for Roosters feeder side Wyong during the season.
