'I'm sacked!': Epic reaction to commentator's curse

Fox Sports commentator Andrew Voss took the blame for the Melbourne Storm's first error in last night's win over Penrith at AAMI Park.

The Storm led 10-6 in the 33rd minute when Josh Addo-Carr ran the ball at the Panthers' line.

Here's the picture: first-receiver Addo-Carr skips past two would-be tacklers on each side and runs straight into Trent Merrin.

Here's Voss's commentary: "Storm still to drop a ball."

What happens next? The ball rolls out of Addo-Carr's carry and into Corey Harawira-Naera's hands.

Here's Voss again: "And, OH, please, NO! I'm out of here. I'm off to the airport! I'm sacked! You're kidding me, it couldn't happen. Sorry, Fox, I did that. That's ridiculous."

As Penrith attacked deep in Melbourne's half, Voss ranked his mistake as one of the worst he's seen.

"(Fellow commentator) Joel Caine, he calls it the most powerful force in the world - the commentator's curse," Voss said.

"He's spot on. You'll never get a greater example."

Melbourne went on to win 28-6, with Addo-Carr scoring in the 71st minute.
