10 NRL player managers now facing possible criminal prosecution

A significant portion of the NRL's player manager stocks will now face possible criminal prosecution following NSW Police and Integrity Unit investigations into Parramatta's cap breaches.

On top of the original four leading agents who have already been served police warrants - Wayne Beavis, Sam Ayoub, George Mimis and Paul Sutton - Fairfax Media is reporting up to six more could also be involved in investigations.

These 10 player managers, who represent a significant portion of the total number in the NRL, could all face de-registration.

The NRL may be forced to push for a whole new team of agents if it is eventually established that a large number are breaching their obligations.

However, in retaliation a number of more-experienced player managers have supposedly hinted at whistleblowing on other cap breaches by former club executives, in a move that could bring the game to its knees.

Fairfax Media are reporting that a significant amount of police resources have been invested into the investigation, reflecting the severity of the situation.

NRL Integrity Unit chief Nick Weeks has reportedly been given significant power to investigate player managers and was the only NRL official to be briefed ahead of the raid on player managers last Thursday.
