Young fan's tears of joy after gift from JT

Johnathan Thurston is a hero to 1000's, one of the most loved footballers in the game. And with good reason.

Following the Maroons tough 6-4 win at Homebush Thurston was doing a lap greeting the fans when he eyed one young fella who seemed more excited than the rest.

He sought him out, handed over his match headgear, got a high five and carried on his way.

It was a small gesture from the Origin legend, but to the boy it meant so much more.

He shares a hug with his mum in a delirious state of joy and stores a memory he will have for the rest of his days, the night he high-fived arguably the greatest player to ever lace up a pair of league boots.
