Shams Charania: The New York Knicks are waiving Landry Shamet, sources tell me and @BobbyMarks42 . Shamet had a strong preseason, averaging 10.8 points per game. Bobby Marks: Here are the options with New York and Landry Shamet: 1. Retain and wait until he gets healthy 2. Waive and not sign a player. The goal would be to sign Shamet (if he is not claimed) once healthy. 3. Waive and sign a player to the veteran minimum as a replacement. Roster rule: New York is not allowed to have fewer than 14 players on the roster for no more than 28 total days during the regular season and 14 consecutive days at a time. -via Twitter @BobbyMarks42 / October 18, 2024
