Kevin Love and Team USA have coach Gregg Popovich running sprints at practice for Tokyo Olympics
He may be 72, but Team USA coach Gregg Popovich has still got it.
Popovich, along with the rest of his coaching staff, was forced to do sprints at their practice on Thursday at UNLV ahead of the Tokyo Olympics.
While it’s not clear why the staff had to hit the baseline, Cavaliers veteran Kevin Love said they violated a basic team rule.
“You mess up, you run,” Love wrote on his Instagram story, which showed Popovich and the rest of his staff running.

Looks like that rule applies to everyone, even Popovich.
The longtime Spurs coach, who just wrapped up his 25th season in San Antonio, took over as the Team USA coach in 2017 after longtime Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski stepped down. He served as an assistant on the 2004 Olympics team, which finished with a bronze medal in Athens, but the Tokyo Olympics will be his first Games leading the team.
The Olympics are set to begin on July 23 in Tokyo. Team USA will play its first group stage game on July 25 against France.
