'P***ed off': Kevin Durant frustrated with Warriors over season-ending injury

Kevin Durant is reportedly ‘p***ed off’ with the Golden State Warriors after claims he was cleared by the franchise to play in Game 5 of the NBA Finals under the presumption he “could not further injure himself”.

The star was allowed to return to Game 5, returning from a strained calf, in the series against Toronto when he ruptured his achilles.

But according to Ric Bucher from the Bleacher Report, Durant’s anger is reportedly directed at the Warriors and whoever may have played a role in him taking part in the game.

“But the indication from several league sources is that Durant is not happy with the team, and the presumption is that it stems from whatever role Warriors officials played in his decision to suit up,” the report read.

“Coach Steve Kerr says he was told Durant could not further injure himself by playing, which obviously proved not to be true.

“If Durant was told the same, it would give credence to the notion that, as one league executive claims, ‘He's really pissed off at the Warriors.’”

The report also suggests Durant and Kyrie Irving have “met twice” in recent weeks to discuss the chance of playing on the same team.

The second meeting reportedly took place in New York shortly after Durant had surgery on his achilles tendon, which was ruptured in Game 5.

A thrilling final series saw the Toronto Raptors dethrone two-time defending champions Golden State Warriors to take the NBA Finals.
