Keegan Palmer in epic brush with Snoop Dogg amid golden skateboarding double at Olympics
The young Aussie champ revealed the brilliant moment with the music icon.
Aussie Olympics champion Keegan Palmer has admitted he enjoyed an epic moment with Snoop Dogg in the crowd as he defended his skateboarding crown for Australia. Palmer has already won two gold medals and is only 21 years old having defended his men's park title from the Tokyo Games in Paris.
Only 24 hours after Arisa Trew won the women's park event at age 14, Palmer was swamped in celebration by other competitors as a broad smile was displayed across his face. And the 21-year-old Aussie enjoyed performing in front of the superstars in attendance.
Palmer had the crowd on their feet after his gold medal run and pumped them up having relished the interaction with the packed crowd. "It's a wild, crazy feeling, dude, to be able to say I'm a two-time Olympian, let alone two-time Olympic gold medallist, it's a crazy, crazy feeling like I literally can't believe it," he said.
Palmer won his gold in front of no fans in Tokyo, but a raucous crowd featuring skateboard icon Tony Hawk, NBA superstar Devin Booker, French gold-medal laden swimmer Leon Marchand and rapper Snoop Dogg all watched on from the stands in Paris. And Palmer said he couldn't help but embrace a hilarious moment with Snoop ahead of his event.
"He gave me a little like dance on the deck - but I'm not representing America, so he probably doesn't like me too much," Palmer said with a smile on his face. Snoop Dogg is reportedly paid a huge appearance fee for America to attend the Paris Games, but has delivered fans plenty of hilarious moments throughout the Olympics.
Palmer was all class after his victory, having credited 14-year-old Trew for giving him the extra motivation to help Australia achieve double gold. "I'm speechless. To be able to back up Arisa from yesterday is a dream come true," Palmer said.
"We grew up skating the same park together, Elanora in the Gold Coast. Elanora's holding it down right now! A hundred per cent, Arisa's gold was an inspiration for me."

Palmer scored his best on the first run having totalled 93.11 points. This was three points ahead of the next best rival after the first round. And fellow Aussie finalist, 17-year-old Keefer Wilson, was in awe of his teammate.
"It's just his style, his speed, his execution of tricks, and the way he puts lines together, it's just absolutely amazing," he said of Palmer. The Aussie's first effort was good enough to give him gold with one run remaining.

Going last, he was granted a free run and a lap of honour. Palmer tried to top his first effort, but unfortunately took a tumble when pulling out the tricks. But it didn't matter. Palmer got up and saluted the crowd as he went into the middle of the arena and raised his skateboard triumphantly in the air.
Palmer was later left awe-struck after skateboarding icon Hawke addressed the medalists after the ceremony. While Palmer could be content with two gold medals, the 21-year-old is already looking at what is next. "That's definitely the goal. I just got to make sure I keep up with this younger generation," Palmer added.
