K-pop star found dead at home - local media

A tearful memorial for K-pop star Koo Hara on Monday (November 25).

Fans showed up in Seoul to mourn the death of the 28-year-old singer.

(SOUNDBITE) (Korean) 20-YEAR-OLD SOUTH KOREAN STUDENT AND FAN OF KOO HARA, KIM NAM-GUN, SAYING:

"It is so sad that she had to suffer from vicious, inhumane comments just because she was a celebrity."

Koo was found dead in her home in the South Korean capital on Sunday (November 24), according to a local news agency.

The late singer was a former member of Kara - one of the first female K-pop bands to make it on the international stage.

In May this year, she was hospitalized after being found unconscious in her home.

A month later she spoke out on the difficulties of overcoming depression, and pleaded for positivity on social media.

A close friend of hers died in October.

K-pop star Sulli had also spoken out against cyber bullying before her death.
