Jordan De Goey's girlfriend goes public with 'sad' revelation about Collingwood champion

Aisha Jade McKinnon says the public's perceptions of de Goey is "sad" and far from accurate.

Aisha Jade McKinnon, the partner of Collingwood star Jordan De Goey, says the premiership midfielder's bad boy reputation is unfair. The former reality TV star said she is "very happy" with the 28-year-old but feels the public's perception of him is far from accurate.

De Goey is widely regarded as an AFL bad boy and that image was only enhanced when he spent a night in a New York prison cell after a nightclub incident in 2021. Following that incident, the talented midfielder's future was clouded in uncertainty after he was stood down by Collingwood.

But the Pies ended up sticking with their star midfielder but he again found himself in the headlines the following year when he was filmed partying with a woman in Bali. The footage showed while dancing with the woman he grabbed her top in what appeared to be an attempt to expose her breasts.

However, McKinnon says that isn't a side of De Goey she has ever seen and says he is a private person and that it is "sad" that a couple of incidents in his early 20s have tarnished his reputation. "It’s sad because I know a very different Jordy," McKinnon told News Corp.

"He’s really lovely. We definitely value our privacy, we connected on that, and we both have unique jobs and support each other."

The pair first met on Instagram and went public with their relationship earlier this year. Aisha - a fashion designer who launched the brand Chosen by Tuchuzy this week - told the publication after connecting on social media they quickly became 'pen pals' before deciding to date one another.

Since then the couple have gone from strength to strength and have even purchased a farm together, about an hour outside Melbourne. McKinnon - who starred on Big Brother in 2014 - says in De Goey's off-season break the couple have been getting their “hands dirty” transforming their new rural retreat.

The Collingwood midfielder has since returned to pre-season training and McKinnon says she has fallen in love with both De Goey and the sport he plays and is happy he is at a "family-orientated" club. De Goey has been going through his paces since returning to pre-season training last month and looks to have come back fit and healthy after a frustrating 2024 campaign where he just managed 13 games due to several injury setbacks. At the end of the season, he flew to Doha for a 10-day groin and abdomen conditioning program in a bid to start this pre-season injury-free and it appears to have worked.

“Jordan, together with the club, made the decision to spend 10 days in his off-season with high-performance professionals in Doha, completing a training program aimed at improving the groin and abdominal issues he experienced during the 2024 season,” Collingwood fitness boss Jarrod Wade said in a statement last month.

“Jordan is committed to getting his body right, working alongside world-leading professionals to ensure he is best prepared for the upcoming pre-season and the 2025 campaign.”
