Jonathan Giles, Biletnikoff semifinalist, announces transfer from Texas Tech
One of the most prolific receivers in college football has announced his intent to transfer.
Jonathan Giles, who pulled down 69 receptions for 1,158 yards and 13 touchdowns in 2016 for Texas Tech, announced the decision to leave the Red Raiders via Twitter on Friday. He was a Biletnikoff semifinalist in 2016.

Giles was the Red Raiders' leading receiver in 2016 as a sophomore, but only pulled down 16 receptions for 241 yards and two touchdowns over Texas Tech's final five games. Fellow receivers Keke Coutee, Dylan Cantrel and Cameron Batson all saw significantly more targets during that stretch.
Giles will enter the 2017 season as a junior, meaning he will need to sit out a year before he is eligible to resume play. But whoever gets the 5-11, 185-pound receiver will get a heck of a pass-catcher in 2018.
