Jon Moxley forced to withdraw from wrestling event because of second surgery to stop MRSA
Professional wrestler Jon Moxley was forced to bow out of All Elite Wresting's All Out pay-per-view show on Aug. 31 because of a recurring MRSA infection.
Moxley, who previously competed in the WWE under the name Dean Ambrose, revealed almost a year ago that he underwent a surgery to eradicate a MRSA infection. Now the staph infection is back in his elbow.
AEW will replace Moxley in his match against Kenny Omega with Pac, who previously wrestled in the WWE as Neville. The 33-year-old was torn up about the decision, as he announced on his Twitter feed.
I'm absolutely gutted to have to deliver this news but I'd rather it come directly from me. In a nightmare scenario, a serious case of MRSA has returned in my elbow. The timing couldn't be worse. In this circumstance I am forced to pull out of the fight 8/31 vs Omega at All Out .

Moxley initially underwent the surgery two Decembers ago along with another to fix a torn tricep. He was expected to only miss three or four months, but complications from the infection kept him out for nine months.
Moxley has stayed healthy since last summer and joined AEW on a multi-year contract in May. He made his debut in their Double or Nothing show, where he feuded with Omega to set up the Aug. 31 match.
This latest MRSA infection was suspected to have been picked up in an event in Japan in June. Moxley was cautious not to make contact with his elbow, which can be a sign of injury.
There is no date set yet for Moxley's surgery to remove the MRSA — or exact timetable to return — but he has announced plans to compete in the AEW's televised event on Oct. 2.
