Joe Westerman kicked out of home as rugby league sex scandal deepens
The Super League player was filmed in a public sex act with a woman who wasn't his wife.
English rugby league player Joe Westerman has been kicked out of his home by wife Lauren after he was filmed in a public sex act with another woman. Westerman is at the centre of scandal after the video emerged on social media this week, showing him and the woman in an alley way.
The Castleford Tigers player, who has enjoyed a 13-year career in the UK Super League, released a statement on Tuesday apologising for his actions. “Firstly, I would like to take this opportunity to wholeheartedly apologise to my family and friends for my actions," he said.

“I’d also like to apologise to the supporters, sponsors, staff, and directors of Castleford Tigers as well as my teammates. I’d like to extend this apology to the game of rugby league, and I have realised that I need to work on my decision-making around alcohol.”
The Tigers, who hit Westerman with a 'substantial fine' over the incident, said: “Castleford Tigers are aware of a video involving a player that circulated on social media yesterday afternoon. This issue is currently being dealt with internally and the Club will make no further comment at this time.”
When the footage first emerged on social media, Westerman's wife Lauren wrote on Twitter about the woman: “Can I make this VERY clear that this is NOT me! We have three children one of whom is almost 15 and she doesn’t need to see things like this all over social media!”

Joe Westerman kicked out of home by wife
According to The Sun, Lauren has now kicked her husband out of the house. A source told the publication that Lauren is "numb" and that Westerman knows the marriage is over.
"There's no way you can come back after something so horrific," the source reported Lauren as saying. "It is one trillion per cent finished. What kind of example would I be setting to my children - particularly my girls - if I were to give it another go? I want them to know that this is not alright, that it isn't acceptable behaviour in a relationship and that we all have self-worth."
Castleford have also said Westerman will be required to perform community service aimed at educating “young people on the effects of alcohol” as well as the “dangers of social media when in the public eye”. The 33-year-old has previously played for Hull, Warrington and Wakefield in a 387-game career, and played two Test matches for England.
He is currently in his second stint at Castleford after playing at the club from 2007 to 2010. The Tigers begin the Super League season with a trip to Hull on Sunday, however it remains unclear whether Westerman will be available.
