Jesinta Franklin takes cheeky crack over stunning Buddy rumours

Jesinta Franklin has posted a rather appropriate Instagram message amid calls for the Swans to trade husband Lance.

Collingwood legend Tony Shaw questioned whether Sydney can win another premiership in the coming years and felt they could get early draft picks by offloading Franklin, who has three more seasons left on his contact after 2019.

“I’m thinking maybe while Buddy still has a little bit to offer you can go the reverse and build for another couple of years down the track, long term and get some, I would think, very early draft picks,” Shaw told The Daily Telegraph.

Buddy responded to the rumours with a brilliant performance in Sydney’s loss to Richmond on Saturday, kicking four goals.

And Jesinta appeared to make her thoughts clear on the matter on Sunday when she took to Instagram with a photo by the water, saying: “Wouldn’t live anywhere else. Beautiful in every season #Sydney”.

Many thought that was Jesinta taking a cheeky crack at the rumours that Buddy would be forced to re-locate.

It was believed that part of Buddy’s decision to move from Hawthorn to the Swans in 2013 was because he wanted to be closer to Sydney-based Jesinta.

‘Wanted a headline’

Swans coach John Longmire also smacked down the claims on Saturday night.

“Someone wanted a headline. I don’t think anyone took it seriously did they?” Longmire said.

“That’s all it does, create articles and discussions.

“The serious football journos wouldn’t have fallen for that.”

That came after teammate Kieren Jack also dismissed Shaw’s comments as ‘laughable’.

“Lance isn’t going anywhere, he’s with us, he’s contracted.

“Sydney love him, we love him here.”
