Jason Kelce Moved to Tears During Super Bowl Broadcast
Jason Kelce was moved to tears Sunday during a live Super Bowl broadcast after listening to the story of two victims of the recent New Orleans terrorist attack.
During a discussion on the upcoming Super Bowl matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs at the New Orleans Superdome on ESPN, network host Marty Smith introduced a segment on an Eagles fan who survived the horrific attack on New Year’s Day and who’s headed to the game Sunday night in honor of his friend.
The fan, Ryan Quigley, was walking with his friend Tiger Bech the day a man barreled through a crowd in a pickup truck on New Orleans’ Bourbon Street and killed fourteen people. Bech, a former football star at Princeton University, was one of those killed during the heinous attack, while Quigley sustained life-altering injuries. Although Quigley initially promised to never return to New Orleans after the traumatic incident, he accepted a personal invite from the Eagles to attend the game—as Bech was also a huge fan of the team.

After the segment ended, Kelce could be seen visibly shaken up by the emotional story.
“I had the fortune of meeting Ryan,” the former Eagles star said through tears. “And the spirit, right there—you wouldn’t even know something happened if he wasn’t in a wheelchair before the Rams game. On one end, something terrible can happen, and on the other, something so beautiful can happen. And just happy that he’s going to be here on the behalf of Eagles fans everywhere. Hell yeah, Ryan.”
In another emotional segment Sunday, NFL legend Randy Moss returned to hosting duties on ESPN’s NFL Countdown a few short months after receiving a cancer diagnosis and was greeted with an emotional tribute video from some of football’s finest.

“Welcome back Randy. I’m sure all the guys on the set have missed you, but we’ve all missed you as well,” Moss’ former teammate Tom Brady said in the tribute. “You’ve been a fixture on that show for a long time and you were a fixture on the field.”
“And for as great as you were on the field in showing everybody the strength and resilience of how you performed over the course of your Hall of Fame career, you’ve impressed and inspired us more than anything you’ve done off the field, man,” he continued.
Moss proceeded to tear up after the tribute and said, visibly emotional: “Y’all already know. Y’all already know it’s the big crybaby here. Hey y’all, I couldn’t do it alone. And I really thank y’all.”
“Hey guys, it’s been hard,” he continued. “But I got a lot of love and a lot of people believing in me. I’m happy to be here.”
