Tracey Wickham has sent her heartfelt condolences to Lisa Curry after the long-time swimming rivals both lost their daughters in tragic circumstances.

Jaimi Kenny, the daughter of Curry and fellow Aussie Olympian Grant Kenny, died at the age of 33 on Monday after a lengthy battle with an unnamed illness.

As tributes and messages continue to pour in for the Curry-Kenny family, one message from Wickham stands out among the rest.

Wickhman and Curry were stars of the pool for Australia throughout the 1980s, however their relationship was frosty to say the least.

In a devastating twist, Wickham also lost her daughter Hannah at the age of 19 in 2009.

Reaching out to Curry earlier this week, Wickham put any bad blood between her and Curry aside.

“Lisa, my heart breaks for you and your family,” Wickham wrote on Curry’s Instagram page.

“It’s a tragic time when losing a child. I can’t believe we both have lost our beloved daughters.

“God bless you and hoping everyone holds you tight. Big hugs … much love. Tracey.”

Wickham’s daughter Hannah Ciobo died in 2009 after a five-year battle with synovial cancer.

Hannah died just hours after marrying partner Tom O’Driscoll in hospital.

“There was love in her eyes,” Wickham said at the time.

“Tom was alone with her, and he saw her slip away.

“She was too young to die. Hannah was a fighter until the end, just like her mother.

“She passed away peacefully with family and friends.”

Lisa Curry devastated by daughter’s death

Curry took to social media on Wednesday to thank those who had sent messages of support, calling on fellow parents to cherish their children.

“Right now, go and give your children the biggest hug and tell them how much you love them, and do that everyday because you’ll never know if it’s the last day,” she wrote.

On Monday Curry wrote: “Our hearts are completely broken.”

“Our beautiful daughter Jaimi has lost her battle with a long-term illness and passed away peacefully in hospital yesterday morning with her loving family by her side.

“So loved. So beautiful. So kind to everyone … So painful. I can barely breathe.

“Jaimi will forever be remembered as a caring, bright and loving soul who always put others before herself.

“Her love of flowers, cooking, art, decorating, photography, babies, the beach, and helping others will always be remembered.

“Our hearts are broken and the pain is unbearable but we cherish every wonderful moment we got to share with our treasured and so loved first child.

“We thank all the paramedics, support staff and the incredible team at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital for their tireless commitment to give us the extra time we were able to spend with Jaimi.

“It goes without saying that this is a very difficult time for our family and all who knew and loved Jaimi so very much.”

Grant Kenny announced the devastating news in a statement on Monday night.

“It is with a very heavy heart that Lisa and I confirm that our beautiful daughter Jaimi has lost her battle with a long-term illness and passed away peacefully in hospital this morning in the company of loving family,” the statement read.

“Jaimi will forever be remembered as a caring, bright and loving soul who always put others before herself.

“Our hearts are broken and the pain is immense but we must move forward cherishing every wonderful moment we got to share with our treasured first child.

“We thank the incredible team at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital for their tireless commitment to making her better and giving us as the extra time we were able to spend with her.

"It goes without saying that this is a very difficult time for family and friends and we trust we will all be allowed to grieve in privacy.”

Jaimi’s siblings Jett and Morgan also took to social media with devastating tributes to their sister.

Curry and Kenny, who represented Australia at the Olympics in swimming and canoeing respectively, split amicably in 2009.
