Jack Ginnivan in damning act amid startling Collingwood development
The 20-year-old star could be set for a massive AFL move.
Jack Ginnivan has deleted all his photos on Instagram only moments before reports emerged Collingwood are set to listen to offers for the AFL youngster after a dramatic few days. Ginnivan has been the speculation of trade reports in recent days amid Collingwood's pursuit of Fremantle gun Lachie Schultz.
The 2023 champions secured small forward Schultz, which only added increased interest around whether Collingwood would keep Ginnivan. The 20-year-old was a breakout star in 2022 having kicked 40 goals and became the target of rival fans.

However, he only made 14 appearances in 2023 with five of those coming as a substitute. And in a huge development, SEN's Sam Edmund has reported Collingwood are set to listen to offers from rival clubs.
Edmund then made the huge reveal that Hawthorn were favoured to sign the talented 20-year-old who is contracted with Collingwood to 2024. “Impeccable sources state Hawthorn absolutely are in the box seat to secure Jack Ginnivan who has recently returned from a Bali break," Edmund told SEN Radio.
“My mail is, he might have even been meeting with Hawthorn today to finalise what a new contract would look like out at Waverley Park.”
Ginnivan appeared to post a story on his social media only minutes before the reports broke, which then saw him delete all photos on his Instagram.

AFL fans were left stunned at the news with Collingwood supporters not keen on letting the 20-year-old talent go. Many fans claimed Ginnivan would be a steal for any club willing to offer him a contract.
Collingwood has confirmed Ginnivan’s manager has contacted the Pies and is keen to explore trade options.

Really rate Ginnivan.
Clean, smart … elite finisher.
Proper footballer.
Would be a steal. https://t.co/yuvHV0FWAz— Mark Stevens (@StevoMedia) October 17, 2023
Our most talented draft picks recently always get traded one way or another. Stephenson, Henry and now Ginnivan. It’s a massive shame, watching him play for another club will be awful

Jack Ginnivan is gone. There is just no way he could stay at Collingwood after this disastrous 24 hours. It’s over, in 48 hours time Jack Ginnivan WILL NOT be a Collingwood player, there’s just no way.

and suddenly every Hawks fan loves Ginnivan

If Ginnivan lands and the Hawks, for a reasonable price, that’s an important missing piece of the puzzle sorted.
An elite finisher the Hawks need, Ginnivan has kicked 58 goals from 42 games. He is a significant upgrade on Brockman, and is still only 20 years old. @HawksInsiders https://t.co/0KBsW5Gjfn— Danny Prins (@daniel_prins) October 17, 2023
Lachie Schultz trade prompts Jack Ginnivan reports
Last week, leading reporter Jon Ralph claimed Ginnivan could be the one impacted if Schultz joins Collingwood. “I think the fallout will reflect upon Jack Ginnivan,” Ralph said on Fox Footy. “He’s a contracted player but with a list that has Bobby Hill, Beau McCreery, Jamie Elliott and then Schultz in front of him...A big decision ahead. (Schultz is) a big name there that I think would fit perfectly.”
Ginnivan fell out of favour with Collingwood coach Craig McRae and spent the majority of the season in the VFL. He was used as the sub in the Magpies' first two finals games, before winning a recall to the starting side for the grand final.
“The good teams just need to top up that little bit more to get the edge on the competition,” Ben Dixon said about Schultz's potential move. “Put a Schultz in that forward line, it’s pretty damaging.”
