Jamshedpur FC have two 1-0 wins to their name and have lost just one match so far. The defensive approach under Steve Coppell has prevented them from leaking goals, conceding just one goal from six games!
They have the likes of Tiri and Andrey Bikey at the back with the presence of Subrata Paul in goal. At the same time, players like Trindade Goncalves and Izu Azuka have failed to contribute towards the score-line, with the team managing a meagre two goals so far this season. What has helped them to keep things tight at the back is Hossain's presence in midfield and despite an injury scare earlier this week, Coppell confirmed the availability of the midfield workhorse and he is sure to make it to the starting lineup.
A win on Thursday will put Jamshedpur within a point's distance from Chennaiyin (13) at the top of the table.
John Gregory's Chennaiyin FC will have Raphael Augusto locking horns with Mehtab Hossain in midfield and Jeje looking to outfox the defensive pairing of Tiri and Bikey. It is going to be a mouth-watering clash between the visitors' attack and the home team's defence which will be looking to add to their five clean sheets so far.
Dhanpal Ganesh is back from the one-game suspension for his four yellow cards. Although Anirudh Thapa did a good job in midfield in their last game, Ganesh is expected to return to the starting lineup. Germanpreet Singh, who came on as a late sub in their match against Kerala Blasters, could get his chance to impress against Jamshedpur, leaving Dhanpal and Anirudh waiting on the bench. Gregory has already shown that he is not afraid to rotate his squad heavily.
Sereno and Alves have been solid as the centre-back pairing for Chennaiyin but both players have collected three yellow cards so far and are a booking away from a one-game suspension. But does Jamshedpur have what it takes test either of them?
