'Caught napping': Batsman run out in farcical fashion

Indian pace bowler Jaydev Unadkat was run out in the most bizarre circumstances after forgetting to get back in his crease after blocking a ball.

Unadkat was batting for India A against India B in the Deoghar Trophy match when the bowler advanced down the wicket and blocked a shot against the off-spinner Nadeem.

But much to the shock of the rushing fielder, Unadkat never returned to his crease but nonchalantly inspected the pitch.

Fielder Kedar Jadhav whipped the ball back to the wicket-keeper who smashed the bails off and dismissed Unadkat.

The batsman didn’t seem too surprised after the runout and trodded back to the pavilion.

India A never recovered and lost to India B by 108 runs in the 50-over match thanks to a superb 113 runs off 122 balls from opener Ruturaj Gaikwad.
